“Why did we choose this material?” 🔍 Behold, a very informational post:
In the creation of this social commerce, it has always been our top value to maintain 100% transparency in the materials we use in our pieces - for our own integrity and to educate our Dainties in any future purchases that they’d be making.
It was a lot of research, clarification and authentication involved. We asked for test results and certifications on top of the verbal confirmations that were given to us. In short, we were being low-key Karen, while maintaining a gracious composure (because we still want the manufacturers to work with us). 🥸 Hahahaha.
In our previous post, we have disclosed that we will be using doubly coated surgical steel (PVD vacuumed with Titanium and 14k Gold/ Silver). We presumed you may have some queries.
💎 “What is Surgical Steel?”
In simple terms, it is “Stainless Steel 2.0”. It is shinier, more durable, more hypoallergenic than Stainless Steel. It is called surgical steel because doctors use them for surgeries.
💎 “If it sounds so good, why did you double coat it with Titanium and 14K Gold/ Silver?”
By PVD vacuuming it with a layer of Titanium, it creates more durability and it also holds onto the 14k Gold or Silver much better. Also, we wish to create such pieces that our Dainties wouldn’t have to fret over. Imagine going for an impromptu water activity with a friend and be like, “oh wait, let me first take off this beautiful piece of jewellery as I don’t want it to corrode or tarnish.” 🙃
In Dainty Chokes, we want everybody to wear our products and shine in them - even when they are exercising, showering or sleeping. This is why we go the extra mile to enhance the quality of our jewellery.
Oh, and did you know? Titanium and surgical steel are tarnish-resistant and corrosive-resistant too. 🥰
