Pasir Panjang was built by hands that worked before dawn.
Fishermen, dock workers, families who lived close to the sea
and closer to one another.

The dial takes its texture from fishing nets
and the ripple of zinc roofs that once covered kampong homes.

The case is intentionally worn.
Not aged for effect, but shaped as a tribute
to labour, salt, sun, and time.
