Nine By Thirty A silver-enthusiast's dream come true. Nine by Thirty is a jewelry store that serendipitously came into being one fine day in Sydney.

Aparna continues to curate her virtual store from Singapore, where she moved with her family in 2012. Nine by Thirty sells silver and beads/gem based jewelry online and through local exhibitions and open houses. Online sale: Every month or once in 2 months we launch a new collection online. The date and time of the launch is always shared on the page a week or two in advance. To get this update, p

lease like this page and come back often to check :). On the day of the sale, pictures of the new collection are uploaded with codes mentioned under them. Interested buyers need to email aparna ([email protected]) requesting the price list. The list is sent out on a first -email -received -first -serve- basis. Whoever books a piece first gets it (subject to depositing the price amount within 2 days). Pictures of a collection get deleted as and when they get sold. Nine by Thirty is managed by a one woman army. It is practically impossible for Aparna to respond to every query posted as comments and messages. The best way to reach her would be via email. Nine by Thirty sources it's silver from various artisans, stores, silversmiths and suppliers across the globe. The silver you see on our site is NOT designed by Aparna (unless mentioned otherwise). They are picked on a single piece basis and put together and strung by Aparna and presented to you. Orders for another piece are not taken unless specified under the product . Price: Price ranges from SGD65-SGD600. Payment: Via Paypal / bank transfer / Western Union/ Cheque/Cash. Custom orders : Custom orders will be taken by Aparna only if you trust her sense of design. Asking her to tailor make something (simply put- backseat driving), is not her thing :-). Delivery: We ship internationally and use SINGPOST for the same. The delivery time is usually 2 -2.5 weeks. This is the cheapest and most trusted method of shipping, we have experienced. buyers in UK are sometimes required to pay duty as do many other countries (We usually share these specifications with the buyer before shipping). Exchange: Once sold, we do not exchange or refund unless there is a serious damage to the product which might have occurred during shipping. Buyers must notify about the damage within 2-3 days of receiving the parcel.

But before that, I wanted to talk about a question I’ve been asked often — how much silver is in our silver?

Sometimes the answer is simple: sterling silver, high-purity silver, hallmarked silver.

And sometimes it isn’t — especially when it comes to vintage silver, which is often what I’m most drawn to and work with .

Because silver, to me, is more than a percentage.

I love old silver. I love travelling to find it. And I love bringing it back to the workbench to make something new by hand. You will find multiple components of all type of silver in one necklace - Sterling silver toggles, Balinese silver or Thai beads and vintage afghani, Rajasthani, uzbeki, Kashmiri, Kutchi, etc pendant!

So when you look at a Nine by Thirty piece, I hope you’ll see more than just silver content. I hope you’ll see the history, thought, handwork and love that go into making it.

Because value doesn’t always just come from purity.

‘Moonstruck’ 🌛

Terraces were made for moon-gazers
like her
who adored it’s shimmer
exposing her bare skin,
silhouetting her curve, bends
making her luminous
all night long

She’d play along
knowing in her heart
she was not the only one
who basked in its luminescence
aware that
she’d be abandoned
when the sun rose
yet she’d humour
that brilliant orb of radiance
asking questions
crafting elaborate answers
singing songs, writing poetry
not once taking her gaze off
lest it faded away

At the darkest part of the night
she’d weep
exhausted with the one way banter
feeling cheated, unloved -
Yet she lay sprawled
the next night
lying in wait of the illusory ball of light

‘Nayantara’ ~ this Keshi pearl necklace (Keshi + freshwater pearls) is named after the star of my eyes. People say children know the value of their parents only when they grow up and become a parent themselves. I’d say a mother truly knows her own value and role as a mother when the child leaves home. Ever since my daughter left for college, I as a mother feel redundant. I’ll never cease to be a mother, but a part of me went with her and continues to live with her. Here’s to all empty nesters who carry on with their lives, holding on to precious memories of yesteryears with their little ones.

I was set to make a Chrysoprase necklace and then Ma Lakshmi appeared on Akshaya Tritiya:). I ended up making both, the Chrysoprase and this beautiful two strand necklace. The pink in the rose quartz is very light. It’s more of a whitish pink, paired with my favourite pearls.

So then, here is ‘Ishwari’, a two strand rose quartz and pearl necklace with Ma Lakshmi motifs set in sterling silver. Hope you like it :).

I’m making these pieces because I like nothing more than to create. In the process if I’m able to sell some locally in Dubai, it’s great. However I’m unable to ship them internationally 🙏🏼.

In which Yin and Yang come together to create a perfect necklace. Two beautiful strands of rutilated black and white quartz come together featuring hints of silver and black Spinel .
