Born on October 11, 1945, Virgil Runnels became one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling history.

Dusty wasn’t defined by a perfect look or a glamorous background. He connected with everyday fans through his charisma, unforgettable promos and the feeling that he represented the working man. That connection made him a true legend. 🔥

A three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Dusty had legendary rivalries with Ric Flair and the Four Horsemen, helping create some of the most memorable moments of wrestling’s territorial era.

But his impact didn’t stop when he left the ring. As a booker, creative mind and mentor, Dusty helped shape future generations of wrestlers and left a lasting mark on the industry.

🚨 In 2001, Stone Cold Steve Austin captured his sixth and final WWF Championship! 🏆🔥

On October 8, Austin defeated Kurt Angle in the main event of Raw to reclaim the title just two weeks after Angle had ended his reign at Unforgiven.

Their rematch was intense, with Austin repeatedly reaching for a steel chair and WWF Commissioner William Regal getting involved at ringside.

Then came the shocking twist. 😳 Regal struck Angle with the WWF Championship, revealing his allegiance to Austin and The Alliance.

“If you were afraid of Andre, he didn’t like you. I met him in Hawaii. I knew him, I respected him, and he did so many favors for me.

“When Andre the Giant would beat me — one, two, three — he’d put his feet on the ropes. That’s a huge sign of respect. He didn’t have to put his feet on the ropes to beat me. I had a good relationship with Andre.”

For Duggan, sharing the ring with André wasn’t about fear. It was about respect.

André didn’t need any help to defeat him, so using the ropes gave Duggan’s character a little protection while still allowing André to get the victory.

It was a small detail, but in the world of professional wrestling, those little moments could mean everything.

🚨 Greatest Tag Teams: The Hart Foundation! 🔥

Some tag teams don’t just become champions — they help define an entire generation. Bret Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart were one of them.

The Hart Foundation brought a technical, hard-hitting style to a WWF tag team scene that was often dominated by power and brawling. Their chemistry, toughness and in-ring ability helped pave the way for the more technically focused tag teams that became a major part of wrestling in the late ’80s and ’90s.

They captured the WWF Tag Team Championship twice, with their second reign beginning in 1990 when they defeated Demolition in a classic title match that remains one of the most remembered tag team bouts of that era. 🏆

🚨 The Revolution was one of WCW’s most underrated factions. 🔥

In the late 1990s, Perry Saturn, Shane Douglas, Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko came together with a shared belief that talent should matter more than politics and favoritism.

Unlike many factions of the era, The Revolution wasn’t built around flashy gimmicks. It was built around serious wrestling, intensity and rebellion.

Benoit brought relentless aggression and technical precision.

Malenko was one of the most technically gifted wrestlers of his generation.

Saturn added power and an unpredictable physical style.

And Douglas became the outspoken voice of the group, making it clear they believed WCW’s system was holding talented wrestlers back.

Their run didn’t last forever, but The Revolution represented something bigger happening in professional wrestling at the time.

The industry was changing.

🔥 Bam Bam Bigelow was known as one of wrestling’s toughest stars. But one of his greatest acts of courage happened far away from the ring.

While driving home in Florida, Bigelow came across a house fire and heard children trapped inside.

He didn’t wait for firefighters or stop to think about the danger. He went inside.

Through the smoke and flames, Bigelow found three children who had no way out. He gathered them up and carried them to safety, putting himself between them and the fire.

The children survived.

Bigelow suffered severe burns and faced a difficult recovery afterward. His injuries kept him away from wrestling for a period of time and affected him long after the rescue.

What makes the story even more remarkable is how Bigelow reportedly viewed the incident. He never presented himself as a hero. To him, he simply did what needed to be done.

Bam Bam Bigelow passed away in 2007, and fans remember him for his incredible career inside the ring.

But his legacy is bigger than wrestling.

In 1979, André the Giant challenged Bockwinkel for the AWA World Heavyweight Championship in one of the era’s most memorable encounters.

With Bobby “The Brain” Heenan in his corner, Bockwinkel knew he couldn’t overpower André. Instead, he relied on strategy, speed and every shortcut he could find.

André answered with incredible power, shrugging off Bockwinkel’s offense and dominating large portions of the match.

But Bockwinkel had one major advantage — experience.

With Heenan involved, outside interference helped Bockwinkel survive and retain the championship in a controversial finish. 👀

André never captured the AWA World Heavyweight Championship, but the match further cemented his reputation as one of wrestling’s most imposing forces.

Bockwinkel showed why he was one of the smartest champions of his generation.
