Disclaimer: I’m opening up here. A little ramble but a lot of heart! 🩷
First off I’m Angel, I’m the founder and creator here for AUGUSTXADDYSON. I started making jewelry as a hobby when my daughter, Harper, was little. I was a stay at home mom living in the big city of Chicago and being creative has always been woven into my fibers and soul.
I come from an Italian grandma who is an oil painter- she had her paintings in galleries when i was younger , a dad who was a very talented pen artist, and a mom who had a knack for finding all things vintage and dressing like a piece of art when she stepped out. It’s natural for me to create. I was making toothbrush bracelets for my friends in MS and HS here in Austin, painting shirts, and always roaming the isles of a craft store.
Jewelry was and is my outlet. When my friends were interested in my jewelry and expressed interest in purchasing, i decided i needed to take this bigger. That was years ago, we ended up moving from Chicago back home to Austin to raise our daughter in a slower environment. However, Chicago will always hold my most treasured memories and if I’m being honest, i think of moving back a lot. I love the rush of the city, i love walking everywhere, and i love the diversity and cultures.
I took some time off from selling jewelry when we moved back to Austin, but it kept nagging me in the back of my head and i realized
I don’t enjoy working for others, i love creating my own path, being my own boss and having the flexibility to show up for my daughter whenever i need to. I like to have the freedom to create without boundaries.
I launched AUGUSTXADDYSON formally known as August Jewelry in 2019 and it has slowly grown and grown from there. The charm bar i opened up in late 2023 and hard launched in Jan 2024 has taken my business to new heights and I’ve been having a blast and feel so grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given! I’ve worked my butt off with charm bar and i wouldn’t have it any other way. Being able to connect with other people who love to create a custom piece of jewelry, is so fulfilling! I love the stories, & the meanings behind your choices. ***continued in comments
