In loving memory of Timiona Tamatoa Tehaai. He was 55 and loved by all who knew him. Timi came to Kamoka as our first employee in 1993. He was a pillar that our farm was built upon. Strong as an ox and one of those people who’s good at everything. He was a stickler for doing things the right way and had little patience for those inclined to shortcuts or not seeing the work through to the end. He was the same age as me and we came to adulthood together, working, diving and living together. He was a quiet, dependable uncle to my two young kids and was always supportive of Celeste and me. He came to the States with us once in the winter and quickly learned to snowboard. He didn’t like the cold though and even slept with his beanie on. He also came to California for our marriage. He helped the caterers of our wedding shuck the 200 oysters we ordered. They had no idea oysters could be shucked so fast. He was always up for adventure. He was kind and honest and good natured and will miss him dearly. Rest in peace Timi ❀️
