We are the Akhal-Teke Association of America (ATAA), the official North American registry liaison for the closed Russian Studbook (VNIIK) for international purebred and partbred registration. 💛🖤 We are a 501-c5 nonprofit that since 1982 has had the mission to preserve and promote the Akhal-Teke horse through support of our region's many Akhal-Teke owners, breeders, and admirers. We are proud affiliates with other organizations in this mission, including the Equus Survival Trust, United States Dressage Federation, American Endurance Ride Conference, and the Akhal-Teke Horse Association (Europe).
Every year we offer a variety of educational and promotional opportunities, and act as a resource for all things Akhal-Teke. We offer a selection of programs to assist with registration, genetic testing, showing, specialty awards, outreach, breeding and sales advertising, and more. We also manage an online Akhal-Teke database for buyers and breeders to make more informed decisions, with advanced tools coming soon. The last two years, we have even run an international multi-show virtual show series with expert judges to invite Teke lessees and owners around the world to compete for titles and great prizes!
We invite you to join the Akhal-Teke Association of America community and share in our rare, endangered horses. Even a like, share, comment, or telling a friend about us and the Akhal-Teke breed is an immense support to our efforts to grow awareness and consideration for this ancient & modern breed.
