One of a kind statement jewelry created from vintage, antique and found object. I'm a southern chick, mom to three chicks, and I find the objects for my pieces- here, there… you get the idea! I post new pieces daily and they are available for immediate sale, at a few galleries and at vintage and art shows! I also love working with you and your heirlooms to make beautiful pieces unique t you and your memories.

I don’t often like to revisit Stories Past- but a friend of mine got so many compliments on her “In Galleries and Museums” piece- I dove in for a fresh collection.

These are an ode to the soaring ceilings and windows, winding spaces, careful curations- and the perspectives of humans moving through them. There is the interaction with the art- and then also that feeling of moving in the art space- that feels sacred.
The backing up- the leaning in closely to see the details of stroke and form. (Make the staff a little nervous with that lean? Oops)

Breathing rare air.

Just got to experience this last Friday at the High museum in Atlanta- with friends and my daughter- we saw Amy Sherald’s “American Sublime”- and it truly was. Make the trip.

These pieces are available! Created from vintage watch part tins, miniatures, and vintage stamps/ resin sealed
Message me for details!

More jewelry ahead this week- Kerry

A week or so ago I intimated in my stories that I had created a piece that turned out a tad creepier than I had expected and the poll results were -Share It.
I have the piece buried in the carousel so don’t swipe past the earrings if you don’t want to see 😂

The excerpt from Love Song of J Alfred Prufock hangs on my studio door and sometimes plays like a mantra in my head while I’m working- “There will be time there will be time” and so on- and in my meditation I’ve thought about how as humans we wrap ourselves in that idea- a blanket of comfort- when in fact there isn’t time. Or at least time that’s not rocketing past like a train.
The piece that I created- I wanted it to feel like that mediation- the figure settled down into their tea pot- into their routine- inside the comfortable- while inexorably the minutes hours and days keep ticking past.

The piece was prettier in my head 😂 but I also feel I inevitably meet a human for every story and I know five of yall will tell me it’s beautiful and I love that about our art community!

The coffee necklaces and earrings are available! Message me if you would like one or both! (First pic is a pile of the necklaces not just one)

I am working every day- just haven’t felt like posting- but I’ll have a bunch of jewelry to share this week- including tiny beaches, medusas, and a revisit to my Galleries and Museums stories! Don’t let the algorithm hide them from you because they are 🍾

And don’t let time pass you by- make the art- do the deep stretches- hug your kids and your chickens.

“We Don’t Live There Anymore” - a story I started writing this winter on canvas and in sculpture- and started playing with in the watch face/ clock face/ photos and paint/ wall piece.
(I’d actually like to go much much bigger).

And in the last few days- some earrings if you scroll- they turned out so beautiful- and poignant.

These are stories of places and selves we no longer visit. Maybe the shame, the darkness, the things that needed to be shed to become the brighter better version of ourselves. We need to let go to grow. To find the light.

Unless you are a red state trying to take us back to the Jim Crow era- because while racism wasn’t a dark thing of the past- it’s been ever present-
now it’s crowing like a rooster.
And they are not ashamed.
It should turn their bones to glass.
In 2026.
To deny representation to their fellow man.

I wanted this piece to feel orderly- and logical- and then like it was unraveling- and finally blood.
I made this months ago -before any of the events of the past two weeks.

But I’m sharing it today. Tennessee. Alabama.
Shame
Shame

Vacation pennants and pressed pennies are mementos of places we have been- but hear me out- the true mementos are The People That You Meet.
Lasting memories- fleeting impressions- a flicker, an insight, a long term friendship, a dreadful disaster of an encounter. These are the defining moments- not just the beautiful scenery or the rocks from the gift shop.

I started creating the necklace version last fall during my suburb’s municipal election. You cannot believe how much money gets poured into an Alabama burb. Or the base behaviors it will bring out in people. I thought to myself “Wow- you just never know who you are standing next to at the Piggly Wiggly”. And the necklaces were born.

As I’ve expanded my art practice beyond adornment- and at this point have cut descriptive words out of two entire vintage dictionaries (I’m deep into a third). The first three large scale pieces I finished sold at Bells gallery- I finished a second large piece (pictured) as a commission- and an enormous piece I have a “fingers crossed” destiny for (also pictured)). I’ve learned a lot about the patience I didn’t know I have. I’ve learned to lean into the meditative nature of the slow build.
I’m inspired by Mbongeni Buthelezi and his huge installation pieces from recycled materials, I’ve had the pleasure of viewing over the years. (Wondering if I can build my patience to enormous room size?)

My work right now is both experimental/ exploratory/ but also a hope that future me will thank current me for the time invested.
(Or as my friend Daniel says “You aren’t scared to work a 60 hour work week” 😂)
The mind says- make the pennants.
I’ve met a LOT of people.

First two small wall pennants and the necklaces are available. Larger scale available upon commission- (they take a few weeks and a lot of yoga)

Absolutely thrilled to be invited to return to Howard Finster’s Paradise Garden this September for Finster Fest!

Being told I’m a folk artist (how would I know right? No art education 😂 which is kind of the point I understand). Being told I’m a folk artist has been one of the most freeing things in ways it takes me a few minute to explain. But I trust my intuition now. The work can be what it needs to be.

Being welcomed by this group of incredibly warm humans? (Instantly. With open arms. No gate keeping. No hairy eyeballs suspicious I may not belong. Instant.). Fills my heart and can’t be explained. Cannot wait to be pulling into Summerville to hear the happy lilt of them calling to one another and sharing their stories.
Folkies are the best of societies.

Having friends who speak my name in rooms of opportunity? Unfathomable gratitude. I have a few of yall. But this one goes to . Have a friend like this. I only hope I can pay it forward to other artists in this generous way.

Ah. Going to take this love straight into the studio.
If you haven’t been- mark your calendars. Book a room. Stash the cash. Load your walls straight from the source.

(I screwed up the quote- 75 not 70- both work)

it’s “Don’t live the same year 75 times and call it a life”.
I saw it scrawled in marker on the eave of a cabin some years back and it stuck in my head.
Stuck like the passage from Madeline L’Engle’s “Wrinkle in Time” that absolutely terrified me as a child. To this day I can’t read it without goose bumps. (Swipe- I included it)
I read that book 75 times at least.
Certain sub divisions give me the same hair raising experience.
And strip malls with AVAILABLE in the endless blank windows. But hey- let’s build more.

First piece -was not the quote I set out to use when I thought to build the base from slides- but it’s the one that felt most Bounce/// Skip- and accidentally connecting it upside down made it Just Right.
I want all of these banners to feel discordant.
The rhythm is wrong. They won’t assimilate.

Second piece- (some of y’all may recall I was getting ready to mess up a Rae Dunn cookie jar in January)- it didn’t fit into my show at Bells- but it is perfect here.
It’s still a cookie jar. You can hide whatever it is you need to get by inside.

Already at work on the next piece.
I know some of yall are missing jewelry- I haven’t forgotten- and have some stewing on the side. I’m just enjoying myself in this large space. So Maybe next week?
