It's a unique role owning a brick-and-mortar while also being a maker. When I first opened my doors, I was very hard on myself because I wasn't making as many earrings as I once did. I placed a lot of unneeded pressure on myself. I was scared that I would no longer be able to work with my hands. Finally, after 3 years, I have a decent balance of the two; some days it includes packing a basket full of supplies and quietly working on product in between customers. Some weeks I can only manage to get one pair of earrings done, and some weeks look like this.
To be honest, I'm thankful that I have a space that allows me to be creative in whatever form that may be.
