I was born and live in Ukraine, in its very center on the left Dnieper River side. And even more I love to knit and crochet! I like to discover new things for myself. So I got acquainted with the tatting lace technique, learned how to crochet miniature flowers for jewelry, small hand animals made of wool and even Teddy bears :)

✨🐭 The story of how my Maileg mice traveled the world, gained relatives, and finally made it home

It all began with an online order from a UK shop that shipped Maileg mice internationally. After placing the order for Big Sister and Little Sister, everything seemed set.

A few days later came the news that the shop’s shipping company didn’t deliver to Ukraine. The search for alternatives led to the idea of sending the package to Israel instead (my parents live there). Surprisingly, that option worked ✨

The mice arrived in Israel quickly, but soon the tracking froze at “Out for delivery” and stayed like that for a week. It turned out that DPD quietly handed the parcel over to Aramex, changed the tracking number, and never notified anyone.

After several follow-ups with the shop, the new tracking number finally arrived. But by then, the mice had already been delivered — to the wrong city and wrong address 🤯

The shop couldn’t assist any further. Reaching Aramex directly turned into a quest: the chat didn’t work, contact forms wouldn’t send, and Facebook was full of unhelpful bots. Eventually, after many attempts, a real person finally responded through Facebook and promised to investigate. But hopes were low.

Meanwhile, my mom, who had been following the entire saga, decided to buy replacement mice directly from the official Maileg retailer in Israel (why didn't I think about it the beginning?..) In just a few days, two new mice safely arrived.

Then, unexpectedly, the very next day another courier showed up — with the original missing mice. So instead of two, there were now four Maileg mice. My mom laughed: “We better send them quickly before more relatives show up.”

All four mice were sent together to Ukraine. After spending ten days at customs, the mice finally reached their new home 🏠 Now they are safe and sound — and finally ready for tiny sweaters, miniature dresses, and their very own handmade wardrobe 🧵✨
