✨Reflections from the workbench✨
“Trust the process,” a phrase creatives hear so frequently we internally roll our eyes when we hear it. But let’s be honest, how many times do we actually DO THAT?
The last few months have ushered in a season where I am having to do this very thing…REPEATEDLY. Several of my last few pieces have had moments where I have looked at their progress and said “I’m not sure I like where this is going.” Some of them I have even almost given up on. But my desire to learn the techniques and the overall process of creating has driven me to keep going. And quite often, those are the pieces that take my breath away when I see the final product.
To my fellow designers and creatives, if this sounds familiar, keep going. Push through the long nights, the bruised and dirty fingers, the tears, the frustration…all of that is part of the process too. It means we are putting our heart and soul into the pieces we create.
To our clients…be patient with us, and understand that the price on the tag you see only reflects a small sliver of the dedication and love we put into the creative craft of designing YOUR unique piece. Let us know how it resonates with you. Share your joy in discovering and owning this piece that we toiled over; because our combined joy is what drives creatives to keep getting better and making more. 💕
