To make a long story short, I've had to bow out of shows until September for medical reasons, and need to clean out my studio to make up for lost income so I can pay for surgery! I'll spare you the gory details, but let's just say my ovaries have been misbehaving and it's time to send them on a permanent vacation. It's okay if you can't participate (because Lord only knows things are rough on everyone right now), but if you would like, comment, and most importantly SHARE this post with people you think might be interested, that would help tremendously. Happy February, everyone! I was digging through my inventory and found these babies! Can you guess what instrument they're made from? If you guessed bass clarinet, you're right! The focal "stones" are actually from the wood of a bass clarinet that shattered (long story). They're inlaid with Kingman turquoise (the blue stuff) and New Mexico variscite (the green stuff). I'll have to dig through my old pictures to get the process into a viewable format at some point, because it's an interesting yet labor-intensive process. Actually, the whole thing was pretty labor intensive, so I will not be doing any more of these LOL.
