I wanted to wait a few days after receiving my Commodore before writing a review. On paper this isn't a watch I would normally go for. I don't like cyclops magnifiers, jubilee bracelets haven't been my thing and bi-color bezels have just been meh to me. Even with all that I thought I'd give the commodore a shot given all the love people have for it. I get it now. The watch is amazingly comfortable. The bezel and dial are beautiful and the lume is just INSANE! I find myself carrying around a small black light just so I can charge the lume at night 😆. Amazing watch (especially for the price!)

I’ll be the first to admit, I didn’t need another watch. But since when has needing something ever had anything to do with buying a watch?

This is my fifth La Touraine watch, and I’ve already got more on pre-order. At this point, I think it’s safe to say I’m no longer just a customer. I’m either a collector, an unofficial brand ambassador, or a guy who desperately needs adult supervision when browsing watch websites.

My wife probably has an opinion on which one.

From the moment I put my Commodore GMT on my wrist, I knew I’d made another great decision. Pictures really don’t do this thing justice. That black-and-blue bezel looks incredible in the sunlight, the black dial has a beautiful depth to it, and the Jubilee-style bracelet gives it that classy look I absolutely love.

What really impresses me about La Touraine, and why I keep coming back, is how much watch you get for the money. The Commodore feels substantial without being bulky, wears comfortably on my big wrist, and looks like something that should cost a whole lot more than it does.

I’ve caught myself checking my wrist several times without actually caring what time it is. If you’re a watch guy, you know exactly what I’m talking about.

And let’s talk about that GMT function. Do I regularly need to know the time in another country? Absolutely not. Do I feel like an international man of mystery knowing I could? You bet your ass I do.

I’ve been collecting watches long enough to know that a great watch isn’t necessarily the most expensive one in the box. It’s the one you find yourself reaching for, the one that makes you smile when you put it on. The Commodore is absolutely one of those watches.

Five La Touraines into this relationship, I can confidently say there’s something about this brand that keeps bringing me back. And with more already on pre-order, apparently I’m not planning on breaking up anytime soon.
