A little look at why I was missing last week at the market, I had a beautiful wedding to attend in Oregon, my son and his gorgeous bride. I am however back at it today with a nice sample of picture jasper. A "donut" of swirling brown, cream and ochre suspended from a sterling bail that reminds us to do those little things that make all the difference in a good life. The chain is accented with tiger eye that helps to keep us grounded. Today is the Street Food Festival, perfect for a holiday weekend. Hope to see everyone there, if there is a little rain remember we are undercover and dry. Have a spectacular day and add in a big round of laughter as well!
Often referred to as "Scenic Jasper" or "Landscape Jasper," its warm tones of tan, brown, and beige mimic natural vistas. When cut, the stone reveals intricate bands and shapes that strikingly resemble rolling desert hills, windswept plateaus, and jagged mountain horizons. It predominantly forms when silica-rich volcanic fluid or mud flows into gas pockets and fissures within cooling lava. Indigenous tribes of North America deeply revered the stone as a direct, physical link to Earth's conscious energy network. Shamanic lore speaks of Picture Jasper as "Mother Earth speaking to her children," containing hidden visual messages, histories, or warnings from the past etched into its scenic rings. It was also widely utilized as a protective talisman to ward off malicious spirits or ensure success during vision quests.
