I love this. All vendors should be ‘advertising’ in some way.
🛍️ LET’S TALK HOW TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT VENDOR MARKETS! 🛍️
…and how to make your next market MORE PROFITABLE FOR YOU! 💰✨
One thing I hear A LOT when a market doesn’t turn out to be as profitable as expected is:
👉 “It must be the director.”
Now, that may be the case sometimes… but it’s not ALWAYS the case. 👀
So, before we point fingers, let’s look at some of the other things that can make a BIG difference in your sales! 📈
📣 LET’S START AT THE BEGINNING!
You signed up for the event. ✅
You made your products. 🛍️
You packed your inventory. 📦
NOW WHAT?
Ask yourself:
🤔 Have I done enough to make sure MY customers know where and when my next market is?
Because here’s the truth…
👉 Your customers can't shop with you if they don't know where to find you!
📱 WAYS YOU CAN MARKET YOURSELF:
✨ Create a Facebook Event or event on another social platform that allows it.
📲 SHARE the posts the market itself is making!
🗓️ Create a monthly graphic listing ALL of the markets you're attending and share it at least weekly.
⏰ Use countdown posts for each event.
“10 DAYS TO GO!”
“5 DAYS TO GO!”
“TOMORROW!”
“SEE YOU THERE!”
🎥 Create Facebook Stories & Reels!
And NO—you don't have to be on camera! Show your products, your workspace, packing orders, behind-the-scenes footage, new products, etc.
👯♀️ INVITE YOUR FRIENDS!
Invite people to the event while you're sitting on the couch watching TV. 📺📱 It takes just a few minutes!
📢 NOW LET’S TALK ABOUT THE COORDINATOR…
Yes, the coordinator has a responsibility to market the event and do everything they reasonably can to bring shoppers through the door.
And I'm talking about REAL ADVERTISING—not just making a Facebook post and calling it a day.
📣 Paid advertising
📻 Radio
📰 Print
📱 Social media advertising
🌐 Websites & online calendars
📍 Signs & other promotional opportunities
Advertising should be prevalent!
But here's the part we can't forget:
👉 The coordinator is NOT the only person responsible for getting customers to the market.
If the market is doing its part AND you aren't marketing yourself…
it WILL show in your sales.
🛒 NOW… LET’S GET TO THE MARKET!
You've marketed yourself.
You've packed your booth.
You're ready to sell!
So ask yourself:
💰 HOW ARE YOU GOING TO BOOST YOUR SALES?
✨ YOUR DISPLAY MATTERS!
A clean, organized and attractive display goes a LONG way.
Make your products easy to see.
Make prices easy to find.
Create different levels and visual interest.
Remember:
👀 If it looks inviting, people are more likely to stop.
😃 AND NOW FOR ONE OF MY BIGGEST PIECES OF ADVICE…
BE AN EXTROVERT! 😂
I don't care if you're normally an introvert…
When you step into that market, you need to become:
💃 PERSONALITY PATTY! 💃
😂😂😂
BE FRIENDLY.
BE OUTGOING.
SAY HELLO.
WELCOME PEOPLE INTO YOUR BOOTH.
TALK ABOUT YOUR PRODUCTS.
You don't have to be pushy.
You don't have to chase people down.
But PLEASE don't sit at the back of your booth buried in your phone while shoppers walk by. 📱🙈
I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH!
People buy from people they connect with. ❤️
A smile. 😊
A conversation. 💬
A genuine welcome. 👋
A little enthusiasm about what you make. 🥰
Those things can make a HUGE difference.
❤️ THE BOTTOM LINE:
A successful market is a TEAM EFFORT.
The coordinator has a job.
The vendors have a job.
And when EVERYONE does their part, everybody has a better chance of succeeding. 🙌
So before your next market, ask yourself:
✅ Did I promote the event?
✅ Did I tell my customers where I'll be?
✅ Did I invite people?
✅ Is my booth attractive and easy to shop?
✅ Am I welcoming shoppers?
✅ Am I talking about my products?
✅ Am I giving people a reason to stop?
Because sometimes increasing your sales doesn't require finding a different market…
It requires doing something different at the market you're already attending. 💰🛍️
