Haircutting was one of the hardest things for me to understand in cosmetology school. I didn’t understand what a layer was, how hair sitting at one length could be transformed into a completely different shape, or how stylists created those soft, wispy or even punky looks.
It took studying the charts, understanding the visual models, and honestly, a lot of trial and error. And that trial and error is still continuing. The more I cut, the more I understand and the more creative I’m able to become.
