Birthday fun at the 2026 Fringe Festival with Theater Group Gumbo, all the way from Osaka!
When I found out the hats they purchased from me more than 10 years ago were a part of their current show, I HAD to surprise them with a matching array of tails & other handmade surprises. Then when they came on stage wearing both their hats AND new tails (and featured one of my Fringelo sleep masks from way back when), I couldn't stop laughing!

Of course WE had to wear our hats too, and they even dragged me on stage as a small part of the show.
Then to top it off, they got the whole audience to sing Happy Birthday to me at closing!
What a wild night I won't soon forget!

Music Music Music ..all weekend long!
Saturday, 5/16 we'll be performing at Maifest with the Germania Blaskapelle! Listen to live music while you enjoy traditional German Food, dancing, and shopping at the German American Society in El Cajon. Admission to Maifest is low cost, and once inside, the music is free!

Then Sunday 5/17, we will be in Old Poway Park in the gazebo near the old train station for the Poway Community Band Festival.
At Noon, we will be playing some familiar favorites with the San Diego City Guard Band.
(Other bands will also be performing between our groups.)
Then at 4:00, we will be with the Germania Blaskapelle for an hour of fun German hits! The community band festival is free, so why not bring a picnic and enjoy music in the open air?
