Here's something most people don't know: the pendulum length in a grandfather clock is precisely calculated. Shorten it slightly and the clock runs fast. Lengthen it and it slows down.

That's not a quirk. That's physics doing its thing in real time, right in your living room.

Every grandfather clock in our shop is regulated before it leaves. But over time, temperature changes, humidity, even a slightly uneven floor can nudge that pendulum ever so slightly out of rhythm.

Great question. ⚙️ Quartz clocks run on a battery and a tiny vibrating crystal, very accurate, very low maintenance. Mechanical clocks run on a wound spring or hanging weights, they require occasional winding and servicing, but they're a living piece of engineering that can last generations with care.
