I'm so excited to be at the Festival of the Arts in Destin, FL this weekend! Tomorrow, the booth will be full of jewelry and I'm SO ready to see all of your smiling faces! It's been a really tough month, with the crazy weather cancelations, but I am really always trying to look on the bright side. This weekend we are celebrating a lot of things--being able to do what I LOVE for a living, our anniversary (which was last weekend, but we decided to celebrate at the beach), and my daughter getting her first official acceptance to law school from Georgetown and an interview with Yale next week! Life is good!

Happy 23rd anniversary to us! I thought I'd have another cute photo of us at an art festival again this year, but instead we're home doing yard work. 🤣 We've built a life, made a home, raised amazing kids.....now I'm just constantly dreaming of the day when my hubby can quit his job and travel with me doing mine.

I don't even really know what to say in this post. The Cumberland Art Festival has been canceled for this weekend. We got there, spent hours setting up, and then the wind came through and starting causing complete chaos. People's tents, displays, and products were down all over the place. We were just about to leave at 9pm when the message came through that they were canceling and we had to go back in and tear everything down. Got home around 1am. Of course now, it looks like a beautiful day.

This is a tough business. So much of our livelihood depends on the weather. This is my 4th show in a row that has been canceled/heavily affected by weather.

I'm a 'look for the silver lining' kind of gal, so here are the silver linings--

1) It's amazing to see artists and organizers all pitching in and helping each other get things secure and taken down.

2) All of my inventory and set up were safe and not damaged. Sadly, I think some people lost a lot.

3) I get to watch football today. This one is a stretch, lol. I'd rather be at a festival, but I'm looking for the positive here.

Anyhow, I'll miss seeing you all today. 💔 I was really looking forward to it. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Today's work in progress....Hippie Hoops! I've been going back and forth between making jewelry and getting my new studio space fully set up. All the furniture is officially moved in and it's down to the nitty-gritty details now. Also, I'm SUPER excited to be back at a show this weekend--the brand new Cumberland Art Splash! The weather looks amazing and like it will really be fall! After the last 3 shows have pretty much been rain outs, I need it! I can't wait to see you all! 💛💛💛

Sad news.....Chalktoberfest has been canceled due to the predicted severe weather moving in for the weekend. 2 weekends, 3 shows impacted by rain. Tough month. Hoping for dry weekends for the rest of year! Stay safe out there, y'all! My next show is the Cumberland Art Splash on October 17th and 18th. I have LOTS of fun jewelry to show y'all!
