Mount Sharon Forge

Mount Sharon Forge Ray Spiller, owner and blacksmith at Mount Sharon Forge, has been hammering hot iron for over30 years. Mount Sharon Forge closed December 2019.

His works have ranged from jewelry and fireplace accessories to large architectural commissions. Spiller also taught beginning and advanced blacksmithing classes at the Appalachian Center for Crafts, and demonstrated forging techniques at many local and regional conferences and meetings. He once produced his own line of blacksmith tools.

In the course of things, we must all move on. Mount Sharon Forge closed as of December, 2019. It has been a true pleasure to devote my best working days to create with ironwork. Now I turn to smaller projects in other areas of life.

Blacksmiths in 17 states have been buying my tongs this year. Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Indiana, Kansas, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Every time I get an order, I hope that a blacksmith gets his or her wings.
