A single daisy stands tall in the center of the deep,
Its white petals reaching out like a hand in the dark.
The background is a sea of textured, midnight indigo,
A canvas of silence that stretches on without an end.

I remember the exact frequency of your laughter,
The way your words used to fill the corners of a room.
Now, the air is thick with a different kind of sound,
The quiet vibration of a life lived mostly in memory.

I walk through the hours without the comfort of your call,
Checking the phone for a message I know will never come.
But when the world slows down and the lights go low,
I find myself leaning into the space where you remain.

I tell you about the small things that happened today,
The way the coffee tasted or how the wind changed gear.
I ask you for the advice I already know you’d give,
And I listen for the echo of your spirit in my chest.

It isn’t a ghost story or a trick of a mourning mind,
It is a bridge built of every "I love you" we ever said.
The stem of this flower is thin but it holds its head high,
Rooted in the soil of a devotion that does not wither.

I have learned to hear you in the pause between breaths,
A private dialogue that keeps the loneliness at bay.
