And honestly, I love finding these little details in cultural history because they make you realise how much gets flattened when we reduce waist beads to one meaning.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 🤎

Knowing your body means knowing what’s normal for you and paying attention when something changes.

A new lump or thickening, changes in breast size or shape, ni**le changes or unusual discharge, and skin changes such as dimpling, redness or swelling can be signs of breast cancer.

Many breast changes are not cancer, but unusual changes should still be checked by a healthcare professional.

And if you’re due for breast cancer screening, make sure you’re following the recommendations that apply to you.

For everyone going through breast cancer, in treatment, recovering, living with it, or supporting someone who is:

I wasn’t ready for that last part. 😭

It’s interesting how easily we can look at a woman’s body and see everything we’re supposed to dislike about it.

But before it was something to criticise, it was somebody’s first home. Please do not hesitate to share this with a mom.
