Well, it was nice while it lasted but as from a fortnight ago, Phoenicis is no more.
My woodwork will continue but only as a hobby from now on, so this page will probably be deleted very soon.
Thank you to all my customers and friends. x

Over the last couple of months, I have been busy working with both slate and wood. There is going to be lots of lovely new stock on the stall this year.
If there is anything that you are interested in, send me a message and I will see if I can make it for you.

This year of going to be very interesting. I started a new line of rustic chess boards at the end of last year. Christmas brought me a fantastic new tool for a totally new kind of product...And I might have just spent rather a lot of money on a big new electrical toy for the workshop.
More pictures to come over the next few months but to start with, here is a pic of the new chess boards.

It doesn't seem very Christmassy when the December markets are damp and dreery instead of cold and frosty.

I only ever do street markets on the run up to Christmas. Today was my first one for this year and was by far the best 'first one of the year' I have had in the past few years.
I haven't even got all my new Xmas stock ready yet. Fingers crossed it's going to be a good year.

Finally started to make my christmas stock. If all goes to plan I should have some lovely new editions to the stall this year.

You can tell that your stock is good quality when you have to do a strategic stall collapse on top of all the stock in a sudden gale and only one necklace and an ear ring box get broken.

Phoenicis has just had a wonderful weekend at our favourite event of the year, Templecombe Medieval Fayre.
We even managed to redesign the tree next to us into a stick tree.

After a couple of months of waiting, the new workshop is finally built. I will be busy moving in over the next few days, ready to create some new wonders for this year's markets.

Apologies for those of you waiting for your Xmas orders. I am back in Devon now, but only for 3 days. I will try to make it to at least one market day before Xmas. If not, do not worry, they have all been made and I will get them to you somehow.

I am sorry to whoever is messaging but there is still a fault on this page. I keep getting notifications that messages are arriving but my inbox is stubbornly empty. I have sent in a complaint but I'm not expecting to hear anything soon. In the meantime if anyone wants to message me please email [email protected]
