Slow mornings + babies + this week’s mug in rotation

I have a lot of feelings about my current state of affairs.

Many of you know that I recently moved out of my studio space and am unsure how I’m going to proceed.

I’ve cobbled together something that looks like useable space in a very rustic shed. I’m believing it will be an adequate studio when the weather improves over the coming weeks.

Being in such a rural location has been such a beautiful, faceted experience. Exactly what we needed to bring our children earth side.

Now that they’re here, it’s proving to be pretty isolating. Lonely at times. Postpartum is a wild ride. I’m missing my community in Atlanta.

Not sure why I’m compelled to share other than to remind myself that I’ll find my art practice, tribe, and fulfillment outside of motherhood again. Life is a series of seasons. Impermanence is permanent. Staying present is the only way through.

We’re beyond blessed with these perfect two boys in less than two years.
Two babies we weren’t sure if we’d ever have.

I’ve had this idea for a little while now.

Forage for wild clay along the Chesapeake coast, refine it just enough to throw, inlay crushed found sea glass.

This results of this first piece have been very encouraging, to say the least.

I’m hoping to make 6-8 in varied sizes, potentially to be shown locally in town in September. The first time I’ve been in any sort of a gallery space in 10+ years.

Thankful for the hardships that gave way to just enough room to work through an idea with no thought of profit in mind.

So excited to open up this opportunity!

I’ve had so many people over the years ask for specific pieces that I haven’t had the time, material, or bandwidth to take on.

This is something I’ve been wanting to offer for a while now, and although it’s at the tail end of the current iteration of Korai Goods, it’s something that feels new and fresh and worthwhile to me .
