I’ve always had a strong desire to draw and paint… but I couldn’t draw a straight line with a ruler to save my life. My 3rd‑grade art teacher even tried helping after school for almost an hour! He gave up.
Chainmaille changed everything.
The weaves were interesting, the colors were beautiful, and for the first time, I felt like I could “paint” — the rings kept everything straight for me. I fell in love with the process and structure of the individual rings woven into one another.
Then came the logistics.
Where was I going to put all these pieces? So I started selling them at my job. And then the paranoia hit — was I supposed to be collecting sales tax? Do you do that with co-workers? Was the governor going to come after me? If Bridgegate is what happens when a town upsets him, what would he do to me?
So I researched what I needed to do and -- P**F! -- FyreLynkz was born.
Now, I help people express the parts of themselves they’re still growing into. Maybe they’re not ready to show that side in everyday life yet — but they can wear a piece that represents that future version of themselves.
And honestly… aren’t we all doing that in one form or another?
