A few months ago Isaiah was hitting golf balls into a lake behind his girlfriend’s backyard. On one of his backswings, he felt his gold Cuban link bracelet break and fly off his wrist. Isaiah with the help of his girlfriend Reaves searched the area of the backyard where he thought the bracelet landed and when he couldn’t find it by sight, purchased a metal detector to help in the search. When he was still unable to find his bracelet, Isaiah found my contact info online and after he provided me some details, we set up a search. When I arrived Isaiah was at work but Reaves showed me the area of the yard where they believed the bracelet had landed. I searched the thick St Augustine grass for about an hour with my detector but was unable to find the target. I decided to extend the search area back towards the house assuming that the bracelet may have flown further back when it broke on his backswing. After about another 30 minutes of grid searching I detected a promising service target. I pushed aside the grass with my handheld pinpointer and saw a small piece of the bracelet already intertwined in the grass roots! Reaves had gone inside the house a few minutes before so I left the bracelet as I found it, walked back to the house to get Reaves and brought her back to the spot. I pushed aside the grass so she could “find” the bracelet and she said “you found it!” I let Reaves very gently pull out the bracelet from the grass because it had almost become root bound! We called Isaiah with the good news and obviously he was very happy to get his bracelet back on his wrist! ✝️🙌😎

Ann contacted me to let me know that her visiting brother Royal had lost his wedding band at Honeymoon Island State Park. He had placed his ring, telephone and wallet in the side pocket of the car door for safekeeping, then decided to pull his telephone and wallet out of the pocket to place them out of sight into the center console, and believed that his ring fell out into the parking lot in the process. Royal and Ann checked the park lost and found and park personnel referred them to me for help. Royal was certain that he had not taken the ring to the beach where I could search with my detector and they searched the parking lot several times. I also recommended that they check with the sheriff’s department lost and found.

Two days later, I received a message from Stephanie who told me that her husband John had lost his wedding band at Honeymoon in almost the same spot in the water where he had lost it about a year ago and I had found it for him! I searched for John’s ring while he and his family were still at the beach and could not find his ring but I did find another man’s wedding band after they left. The next day when I was searching for John’s ring again, I met Ann and Royal who recognized me out in the water. Royal told me that he and his sister had come to this same area of the beach several days before when he lost his ring. When I told Royal that I had found another wedding band near where we were standing in the water he was still certain that he had not taken his ring onto the beach. The next day I was talking to my wife Jan about the ring I had found and that Royal had told me that his ring had several very small borders of beads bordering both edges. After taking a closer look at the ring that I had found under magnification I realized that the ring seem to match Royal’s description. I then texted Royal to ask him if he could send me a photo of his ring which he did later and after a close comparison we were sure we had a match! It seems that while looking for John’s ring in the same area where he had lost it almost a year before, I found Royal’s ring which he had lost a few days before in the water where he was sure he had not taken it!! Apparently he either put it back on his finger or in his pocket before going onto the beach and into the water. When I told Ann and Royal she said they were “gobsmacked” but when I returned the ring to Royal I told them we were all “God smacked”!!! Hopefully He will lead me back to John’s ring too! I had just recovered a wedding ring from the water for Hayley recently and was leaving the beach with my detecting buddy Jim Facinelli when a person told us that someone needed our help in finding a lost ring. We found out that Aidan had placed a beautiful gold ring given to him by his grandfather on a cooler and when someone opened the cooler the ring flipped off into the sand. I still had my equipment on so I began to detect around the cooler and after about a minute I received a strong, promising signal. Then I saw a small part of Aidan’s ring barely showing out of the sand! He was very happy to get it back!🙏✝️🙌😎

Matt was enjoying some time in the water near Pet Beach at Honeymoon Island State Park on Memorial Day Monday when he felt his tungsten wedding band come off of his finger. As soon as he could he posted the loss on the Honeymoon Island State Park Friends page. My friend and fellow “ring finder” Brandon Carmichael who administers a group called Pinellas Ring Recovery (that I am proud to be a member of) posted the loss in our chat group. I was out of town but a member of our group Scott Carlson agreed to look Monday evening. Scott was unable to locate the ring so I planned to look Tuesday morning. On Tuesday another trusted member of our group named Jason Connolly who is like me a member of the Ring Finders for the Tampa area joined me in the search. After about an hour Jason got a strong, promising signal on his metal detector and scooped Matt’s ring out of the water! As the pictures show, Jason and Matt were pretty happy about that!

Hayley and husband Ellis had family members visiting over the Memorial Day holiday and in town for their daughter’s high school graduation. Hayley and some other family members decided to have a beach day at Honeymoon Island on Friday. While Hayley was in about waist deep water she felt the engagement/wedding ring set that she had been wearing about 20 years slip off of her finger. Hayley was so distraught that she left the beach almost immediately and went home. Ellis suggested that she post the loss of the ring on several local social media pages and one of those was Honeymoon Island State Park Friends. My wife Janet saw the post and pointed it out to me and several members of the page also recommended me. Hayley reached out to me and after she sent me some maps and other information regarding the loss location, I searched in the water about 2 hours until sunset Friday evening with no luck. I spoke with new park manager Kyle Easley before I left and told him I would be back first thing Saturday morning. I texted Hayley with the bad news but promised her that I would return and that if I found her ring it would be returned to her. The next morning I began to search again and my detecting buddy Jim Facinelli joined me to help expand the search area. Hayley had told me she thought the water was about waist deep when she lost the ring but I decided to go a little deeper and a little closer to the rock jetty while Jim moved a little further south. When I say “decided”, what I mean is that I ask the Good Lord to guide me for the search because no matter how good my equipment is or how much time I search especially in water I have to pass within a foot or two of the target to detect it. It wasn’t long after I moved deeper and about two hours after I began the search Saturday morning that I received a strong, promising signal and after two scoops into the sand I had Hayley’s ring in my hand. Amen!! I forwarded a photo of the recovered ring to Hayley and she was obviously elated! She and Ellis had just been discussing and preparing for the possibility of never seeing the ring again when they received my text! Needless to say the graduation festivities on Saturday were much more enjoyable! I returned the ring to Hayley and Ellis Saturday evening and we celebrated God’s blessings!
Hayley and Ellis, it was my pleasure to meet you both and be able to return Hayley’s wedding ring set. Thank you so much for the very generous reward; it will be put to very good use! God bless and Godspeed to you and your family!🙏✝️😎

Sam was at Honeymoon Island State Park several weeks ago with his wife Maria and a group of friends. As he was catching a football in almost waist deep water, he felt the wedding ring he had had on his finger for about 5 years slip off into the water. Sam and his friends searched unsuccessfully for the ring and he had to leave the beach without it. A couple of days later, Sam called the park office to see if anyone had found his ring and turned it in. Park personnel had not seen the ring but gave Sam my contact information. Sam lived over an hour away so he could not meet me for a search but provided an excellent Google map pin and a description of the loss location. He also helped to confirm the loss location through pictures I sent him after I arrived. I began my search in the wet sand before moving out into the water and found a ring that I knew was not Sam’s. After detecting for about 45 minutes and in about knee deep water, I hit a promising target with my detector. When I shook the sand out of my scoop Sam’s wedding ring appeared at the bottom! I sent Sam several photos from the beach with the good news and a couple of days later returned his wedding ring to him. Once again, the smile says it all!

Josephine had traveled from her home in Belgium and was visiting her sister in Trinity. The two sisters decided to spend the day at Fred Howard Park beach as they had done a number of times before. Josephine took off her wedding ring set and placed them in her chair cup holder to apply sunscreen. When she and her sister packed up to leave the beach a few hours later, the rings fell out of the cup holder into the sand and Josephine realized the rings were missing when they got to their car. They retraced their steps back to where they had their chairs but were unable to find the ring set. When Josephine returned home and did some research, she found my web page lostringdunedin.com and thirty minutes later, Josephine and I met at Fred Howard Park beach. I detected the sand from the parking lot up to where Josephine and her sister had their chairs on the beach with no luck. I then searched the chair area and hit a promising target. I dug into the sand with my beach scoop and exposed one of the two rings which Josephine joyfully scooped up out of the sand! I scanned the spot again with my detector and knew that I had the other ring in my scoop so I slowly sifted the sand out until the second ring was exposed and handed it to Josephine. Needless to say we were both elated! Josephine later told me that it would so very sad to have bad memories of Fred Howard Park because that was where her husband proposed to her!

Alexis was visiting Clearwater Beach with husband Brad, their children and some friends, enjoying the great weather and playing beach volleyball behind Crabby’s Beachside Pavilion. She had placed her wedding ring in a zippered pocket of her backpack for safekeeping. The family left the beach after a few hours and later Alexis realized that her ring was no longer in the pocket! She returned later to search the area including the parking lot but could not find the ring. Alexis found me through social media and gave me the details. She thought it was most likely that the ring fell out of the pocket when she pulled the children’s sunscreen out on the way to the beach but it could have been lost further out towards the water where they had set up their canopy. Alexis sent me a map of the loss area and also agreed to meet me on site the next morning to help pinpoint the location. I arrived first and began grid searching in front of the restaurant. Alexis arrived a little later to assist but had to leave shortly thereafter to prepare for a trip out of town. I was unable to find the ring in the area where the canopy was and the volleyball took place so I began to search the beach access area where the family had entered the beach. I soon hit a promising target with my detector and scooped Alexis’s ring out of the sand! She and her husband were in the process of making a flight so I returned the ring to Alexis when they returned a few days later. The smile says it all!

Sandy and her daughter Kaley were enjoying a vacation at Clearwater Beach as Kaley had flown in from San Diego to spend time with her mother who lives in Lutz. They had not been on the beach long before Sandy realized that one of her gold diamond and pearl earrings was missing. Sandy and Kaley looked around their chairs and umbrella and Sandy retraced her steps back to the restroom where she did find the earring back in the walkway but not the earring. Kaley found out about my services from Amanda at the Hampton Inn and contacted me to give me the details. When I arrived, Sandy told me she thought the earring probably came off when she removed her beach cover-up. After getting a reading for my detector from the other earring, I began my search at the restrooms and searched the sand towards their chairs. Sandy and Kaley then moved their chairs and I found the earring near the umbrella! We were all happy to see the earring back in her ear where it belonged!
