Great job to Hazleton City Firefighters IAFF Local 507 on six saves today!

Some of our members had the opportunity to travel up there this past winter and hear firsthand about the challenges their firefighters face. Seeing drivers operating alone and making grabs is something we experience here as well.

Increasing their staffing is absolutely justified, and it’s a shame it hasn’t happened already. These firefighters deserve the staffing and resources necessary to safely and effectively do their jobs.

This fire is yet another example of “we got lucky this time!”

This week, A Shift completed their annual confined space rescue review with a challenging, realistic training scenario.

The drill simulated a structural collapse that left a patient trapped in a hole and impaled by rebar.

Another study showing fire departments need more staffing? Shocking….

Maybe one day we’ll stop studying the obvious and actually do something about it.

A consultant's study says Bethlehem's fire department needs more firefighters ahead of a City Council committee review Tuesday.

Some of the city's fire trucks run without an officer aboard. Story in comments.
