I would like to start this off by saying I really don't care who you vote for, as long as you vote.
Now that that is out of the way, I am STILL, after almost a decade, truly trying to understand WHY the two parties are so different. What were you taught that I wasn't or vice versa. Although have asked hundreds of people to have a fair and open discussion about this you can even send me articles or videos to back up your claims. As soon as I send a one I hear "I only watch/read things from sources I believe." That means that you will never even try to see things my way, why? Are you afraid that I might be right and everything you believed up until now may be wrong? Are you afraid that my information may convert you? I am willing to let you try to convert me. I can't understand how, the country is in really bad shape and roughly half of Americans don't care and are not really interested in fixing it. It is more important to have your friends like you than to continue to have your freedom. Neither side of our Government are totally blameless. We The People are facing a truly existential threat because of letting the government believe that THEY are in charge for too long. As a nation we have a very real moral decision to make in November. I am not promoting one side or the other in this post. I am only saying that EVERYONE needs to do a little research, check both candidates ACTUAL record (political or othetwise.) Look beyond what your friends or favorite newscaster/journalist says about them and see what they truly stand for. Don't hate because you are told to, for that matter, don't hate at all. It doesn't matter what your political beliefs are, truly.
We are neither Republican OR Democrat!
We are neither black OR white OR (insert race here.)
We are not Pro-life OR Pro-choice!
We are not rich OR poor!
We are Americans! We have soo many more advantages than ANY other country in the world and yet we squander it by spending all of our time dividing ourselves into small, insignificant groups that we cannot see the bigger picture of exactly what we stand to lose. People like Taylor Swift and Elon Musk don't care that eggs are over $3 a dozen, that milk is almost as expensive as gasoline or that it takes about 1/4 of your weekly pay to fill that tank.
Listening to them is like listening to someone standing on the shore lecture you on how not to drown.
Listen to your heart and gut.
Has your life improved in the last 4 years? Great, vote that way. Has it not, then vote that way. Has your candidate done or said something you just can't agree with? Don't worry about what others will think, switch sides if you want. I have seen commercials for both candidates that past voters have had a change of heart. All I am asking of you is to LISTEN, not with just your ears but your brain and heart also.
What is the evidence for or against either candidate?
Is it HONESTLY TRUE!
Can you find 3 credible sources, besides your favorite sources?
Are you willing to entertain the possibility that what you have been taught might not be 100% factual but based on someone else's perspective?
If you can do all of these things and still feel your candidate is the one who can make the future better, then vote for them. If you feel that voting either way would be a loss to America, then choose the one who, whether you would invite them to dinner or not, might have a more solid plan to make a positive difference.
MY wish is that EVERYONE who is registered votes! Not registered? Get that way! Not yet a US citizen, don't vote until you are or you could face criminal charges and or deportation.
However, voting is not my primary reason for this post. I want to stop the hate, stop the divisiveness and stop all of the thinking that some are better than others. I call people like that "Humanists!" They are obviously against all humans that have a mind of their own.
Please think about any consequences that may arise before talking or acting in any manner, your children are watching you.
How would feel if your favorite Grandmother felt differently than you?
What if you get to heaven and God says you were wrong BECAUSE you were more open-minded?
That's my rant for today. I don't care if you like it or not all I ask is that you read the whole thing and maybe considered its message.
