The Jaeger-LeCoultre Gyrotourbillon 1 — world's first spherical tourbillon wristwatch, 2004. 🌐 Two axes. Two nested cages. Inner carriage: one rotation per 24 seconds. Outer carriage: one rotation per 60 seconds. Net result: the balance wheel traces a near-perfect sphere through space, counteracting gravitational positional errors in every direction simultaneously. Caliber 177 — 471 components, 0.33g aluminum inner cage, cylindrical hairspring (an 18th-century Breguet concept industrialized for the first time), ~1,000 hours of hand-finishing per movement.
