These photos were taken at a street feeding in a rural area of Nicaragua. The old and young came with their plastic bowls for rice and chicken. Most walked but others came by bicycle, horse and cart. We did this feeding near a small dump. A very humbling experience. God does not require perfect people to go on mission trips, just those who are willing to serve. #

As I was reading through the book of Jonah today, one verse really caught my attention. Jonah 2:8 says, "Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs." This was part of Jonah's prayer when he was in the belly of a great fish.

You see, any object of our devotion that replaces God in a lying vanity. We deceive ourselves with something that is ultimately empty and foolish. Make sure that nothing takes God's righteous place in your life!

FYI: Americans spend 65.5 Billion Dollars on Lottery Tickets each year. I think money could be better spent on bringing hope to the hopeless, feeding the hungry, caring for the sick, ministering to orphans and widows....just doing what he has called us to do.
