Friend brought this Tissot Seastar out today and now I’m annoyed because it’s way nicer than it has any right being for the money.

Seriously.
The dial in the sunlight looks fantastic, the Powermatic 80 keeps going forever, and the whole watch just feels solid.

This is one of those dangerous watches where you start thinking:
‘Maybe I don’t need to spend Omega money after all.’

Five minutes later you’re online pricing this gem out.

“I’ll always respect watches that know exactly what they are.

This Citizen isn’t trying to be a luxury flex piece or a tactical spaceship. It’s just a clean, reliable everyday chronograph that looks good on the wrist and keeps going.

And the black mesh strap completely changes the personality of the watch.”

Friends keep handing me watches to photograph and honestly… I’m not mad about it.

This Origin Watch Co. Vintage Field has such a clean understated look that the second I picked it up I understood the appeal.

Then I flipped it over and spent 10 minutes staring at the movement like:
“Ah yes. Tiny mechanical wizardry.”

Benchmade and leather Field Notes cover were a nice touch too. Really tied the “prepared outdoorsman” starter pack together.

Skeleton watches are fascinating because they let you watch the tiny mechanical chaos happening inside.

Tiny gears.
Tiny springs.
Tiny moving parts I would absolutely launch into another dimension if I tried servicing this thing myself.

And seeing it tick in motion somehow makes it even more impressive.

It’s weird to think this entire watch is powered by a spring and a bunch of miniature parts all agreeing to cooperate with each other.

Meanwhile my lawn mower carburetor sees one leaf and gives up entirely.

Today I learned two things:

1. The Rolex Submariner is absolutely gorgeous in person.
2. I become financially uncomfortable within a 3 foot radius of one.

I’ve seen these online a thousand times.
Didn’t matter.

The proportions are perfect.
The bracelet feels absurdly solid.
And somehow it manages to look expensive and indestructible at the same time.

Meanwhile I was wearing it like:
“Please don’t sneeze. Please don’t trip.”

Because one accidental smack into a door frame and suddenly:
“You owe me a ten second car.”

Beautiful watch.

The Tissot PRX Carbon feels like someone made a watch out of stealth fighter material.

The forged carbon case is what really caught my attention.

Since the material patterns form differently during production, every one ends up looking a little unique depending on how the light hits it.

Also… this thing weighs basically nothing.

Like “checking your wrist three times because your brain thinks the watch fell off” light.

It’s such a weird contrast because your eyes expect steel, but your wrist gets something completely different.

Really cool watch to spend some time with.

One of the most underrated upgrades in watches:
a good strap.

You can completely change the personality and comfort of a watch without touching the movement or case.

This Harley-Davidson watch got a fresh setup with orange stitching and a deployant clasp, and it honestly transformed the whole package.

Also… deployant clasps feel unnecessarily satisfying to use.”

Memorial Day means a little more when there’s a face, a name, and a story behind it.

This watch belonged to my Step-Grandfather, who served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He passed away in 2013, but pieces like this still carry his story forward in a quiet way.

The watch itself isn’t perfect.
The dial has aged.
The case has wear.
It’s lived a life.

And honestly… that’s what makes it special.

Every scratch and every worn edge means this wasn’t something sitting untouched in a drawer. It was part of someone’s everyday life — someone who served his country with courage and honor long before I ever held this watch in my hand.

Memorial Day isn’t about perfect photos or polished objects.
It’s about remembering people.

The uniforms.
The service.
The sacrifices.
The families.
The lives lived afterward.

Thank you to all of those that gave their lives for their country. I salute you! 🫡🇺🇸

Memorial Day means different things to different people.

A friend of mine sent over his Resco watch and his Navy Seabees uniform photos, and honestly… this one carried a little more weight behind it.

Watches are interesting because they tell stories. Sometimes it’s about craftsmanship, engineering, or design. Other times it’s about where they’ve been, who wore them, and what they represent.

Pairing this Resco with a uniform that was actually worn in service made this feel less like a watch post and more like a reminder.

Today isn’t about sales, hype, or flexing wrist shots.
It’s about remembering the people who served, sacrificed, and carried responsibilities most of us will never fully understand.

Today’s a good day to appreciate the people who wore the uniform long before we wore the watch.

Thank you to all who served — and especially to those who never made it home.

Vintage Breitling design meeting:

‘How much titanium and gold do you want?’

Breitling:
‘Yes.’

‘Should we make it subtle?’

‘Absolutely not.’

This thing looks like it should come with aviators, a flight jacket, and clearance for takeoff. Somehow it’s part fighter jet cockpit, part Wall Street power move, and part sci-fi movie prop… and against all logic, it still works.
