The Worcester Center for Crafts and New England Botanic Garden have partnered to present a juried fair of American craftwork. Hosted at Tower Hill, the show features fine artisans representing ceramics, jewelry, wood, metalworking, glass, mixed metals, painting, fiber arts, and more. The fair is held indoors, and is free with admission paid to New England Botanic Garden.

something a little different for me.
the reverse of what i typically do. and while i figuratively walked through these woods, holding onto their forms instead of releasing their silhouettes, i was struck by their fullness. almost bursting out of the frame i put them in. i could almost smell the sap, feel the prickling of their needles on my cheek. this one has a beautiful weight to it. this one brought me somewhere new.

after many months and much contemplation and fixation (always) here’s my “time” series.
using a bunch of vintage watch pieces that i found years ago, i’ve meticulously crafted forms to complement and carry these pieces that so directly reference time. it’s a very limited edition series so i will only be able to make a handful of these treasures.
i hope you like them as much as i do!
as many of you know, I had a baby two years ago. i chose to be here at home with him, putting my work life on hold with small blips of productivity. time has become elusive, which has gotten me to think about how time, the passage of it, has felt different during different periods of my life. it has felt drawn out and slow. it’s felt warped and fast. it hasn’t always felt linear. it’s felt stuck or on a loop. i’ve learned that i’m not special in the way i experience time. it’s a human experience type of thing.
so here’s to time, embracing it however it unfolds.
