I design and create handmade earrings, bracelets and necklaces. I use a wide array of beads, metal findings, stones (including semiprecious), upcycled ephemera and other materials in my work. My style is versatile, in the hopes that there will be "something for everyone." My interest in beads and jewelry was first piqued when I would admire the beaded Christmas ornaments my talented maternal grand
mother (Grandma "Bea") made decades ago. When she noticed my interest, she handed down a large and enticing supply of materials to me, and I never really looked back. My dad's side of the family also contributed; when I was five, they gave me a plastic container of beads for Christmas. The home videos and pictures from that day show me off in my bedroom by myself just mesmerized. I loved looking through them and sorting them. In junior high I started making seed bead bracelets, and it became such a great creative outlet for me. I got so excited whenever I made my supply runs with what little funds I had. When I went to college, I pursued graphic design, which became my main career. As you can imagine, the creative mind needed to be a graphic designer lends itself very well to coming up with jewelry designs. A few years ago I got back into jewelrymaking with some coworkers and we enjoyed inspiring each other. Now I strive to learn new techniques, come up with unique designs and, yep, I still get very excited about my supply runs. I'm a huge animal lover, and you'll definitely see some pieces that are critter-centric, as well as plenty of items inspired by nature. But on the whole I'm simply drawn to pretty things, so I like to put elements together that look lovely, and I keep going until I feel that has been achieved. Thank you for taking the time to look around!
