What kind of concerns enter you mind when purchasing a watch?
Afraid you might purchase a fake or fall for a scam?

Believe me when I say it can happen to the best of us if you let your guard down. Just google “super fake watches” and you will realize many replicas are extremely difficult to differentiate from the authentic watch.

Here are 3 ways to prevent losing cash on a fake watch or scammer by spotting red flags 🚩

1) Feedback.

Check to see if the person you are buying from is a business person with reputation! Not only should you be looking for good feedback, but recent and relevant feedback. Communication is key in this process + doing your due diligence is vital and your right as a consumer.

2) Emotional Control

Too often people will list a timepiece for a really low price that is too good to be true. Whether it be listing of only a few hundred bucks or another that is thousands less than any other comparable... don’t take the risk! It isn’t worth the risk placing your bets on a fake that’s at a “discount”. Many scammers will also attach a story about their “cousin who will ship the watch” or “grandpa that passed away”... it’s none of your business and an emotional trick scammers use.

3) Research

Even for the watches that no dealer has on hand, you can still gauge the price online. Doing business with people on watch forums and markets that protect the consumer such as eBay or Chrono24 will not only open up your horizon of what’s available... but you’ll find much better deals too!

The reality is, greed and ignorance is the root of why 99% of people fall for scams. Use these tips when it’s time for you to “get rid of the jitters” and pull the trigger purchasing your next luxury watch.
