I think we have talked about this before...sometimes I like the crudy look of metal while it is in process. It looks like an artifact.

This piece is actually a ring that I messed up the gilding on. So I have to burn off the gold and the size to start again. After burning the finish layer off, it soaks in acid for several hours - it gets pickled. Then it goes in the tumbler to get textured with the matte finish. And then it will be re-oxidized - cross your fingers - because sometimes on the second round it will not oxidize smoothly and we need to go back to step 1. Then, finally, after masking off certain areas of the ring, I get to gild the surface with 24k gold.

We made a couple sets of these stackers to bring with us to Kanasas City for the Plaza Art Fair (Booth 414). We will have a set of size 7 and a set of size 10. Then of course we will make you a brand new set to order in your size.

We updated the finishes used a little bit. They are mostly oxidized with gold and brushed sides - for a tri color effect. The gilding is 24k leaf on the inside and KeumBoo (also 24k) on the outside bits.
