Geophilia Studio

Geophilia Studio A jeweler educated in the Geosciences. My work follows a modern design ethos where simple lines are punctuated by textures and intense stones.

Whether it's sterling silver, gold, or bronze, geometry and form unite to create curiously beautiful jewelry. Geophilia is about bringing the beauty of the earth to people who want to adorn themselves with something eclectic and meaningful. The earth is more than just oil or diamonds. Basic river rocks can be cut in such a way as to bring out the intricate patterns of banded quartz that formed ove

r millions of years, then broke off and washed down into a stream, smoothing the periphery of the rock. The earth’s stories are told through the rocks we wear; diamonds tell a story of how, through heat and pressure, basic carbon can be made into the most coveted gemstone in the world. Agates and jaspers tell the story of how water flows through crevices and pools in cavities. Obsidian, peridot, and sanidine tell the story of how new land is formed through power, heat and fury. Geophilia tells the earth’s story through artistically cut stones set in carefully designed and manipulated sterling silver. Simplicity is the ultimate form of sophistication and geometry is a natural way of telling the earths story through form. My current favorite pieces are minimally designed in textured silver utilizing geometric forms accented with stones of opposing colors. Lately I’ve been exploring geometry and how different shapes can fit together to create an interesting piece. To elevate a design, I like to tuck small stones into crevices and texture the surface of the silver using a variety of techniques. Another thing I’ve been interested in is reworking scraps and cut-offs of silver by reticulating, or nearly melting, the silver to give it texture, then adding stones or other pieces of silver to create a completely one-of-a-kind piece that cannot be replicated. I’m always looking for something different, something that stands out and is unanticipated. What we wear and adorn ourselves with tells the story of how we present ourselves to the world, who we are, what we’re interested in. I want you to wear my work and be comfortable in your skin and in your individuality. Let me help you tell your story through curated adornments.

Why does silver tarnish? It’s a chemical reaction with sulfur compounds, pollutants, and moisture in the air, the product of which is silver sulfide.

The copper in your sterling also reacts with oxygen in the air creating cuprous oxide.

Keep your jewelry in an airtight container when not wearing it to avoid having to constantly clean off these reaction products.

These are called the Geode earrings because the stones inside the hoops resemble the tiny crystals found within some rough rocks. Can you see it?

These are medium weight earrings that really sparkle in the sunlight.

I shared my 2026 business goals on the blog this week.

They’re less about doing more and more about doing things with intention — how I want to work, what kind of pace feels sustainable, and what success actually means to me now.

If you like the slower, more thoughtful side of this business, my email list is where I share that kind of writing more fully.

You can read the full post (and sign up) through the link in my bio.

I just wanted to say thank you for being here—whether you’ve bought something, come to a show, replied to an email, or quietly followed along. It genuinely means more than I know how to say.

I’m grateful you make space for and share in this passion of mine. ❤️ Happy New Year! I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!

As this year winds down, I keep coming back to this piece, the Cosmic Bracelet.

Not because it sold (it didn’t) or got the most attention (it didn’t)—but because it reminds me why I make work in the first place. Craftsmanship, design, comfort, and artistic vision.

I learned alot making this bracelet; from the hinges to the hook closure to setting the tiny stone. It’s a labor of love and a feat of craftsmanship, which is what my work is all about.

Thank you for being here and supporting this work. I can’t wait to see what 2026 brings!

The tools, the wax, and the finished piece.

Contour is hard on my hands. So a goal for January is to create the collection using wax and casting. It feels like cheating, but will be much easier on my hands and I’ll be able to achieve more interesting folds in thicker metal. I’m excited to see where it goes!

"We are made of star-stuff."

Carl Sagan said that to remind us that we’re made of the same elements as ancient stars and distant galaxies. We contain traces of the universe within us. Thus we are all connected to each other and to the cosmos. Doesn't that make you feel so alive?! So radiant?!

That feeling is the defining moment behind this collection. In dark times, we need to feel radiant, powerful, alive, and connected.
