Sigma Kappa Omega - Beta Chapter A sisterhood like none other

Carpe Diem Sigma Kappa Omega began when Kara McIntyre and Katie McCormick decided that the national service sorority they were members of wasn’t the type of sisterhood they had been searching for. Kara and Katie began working on the idea for Sigma Kappa Omega in Fall of 2001. After a lot of hard work, Kara McIntyre, Katie McCormick and Megan Thomas became the founders of Sigma Kappa Omega. On Nove

mber 12, 2001, the sorority's constitution became finalized, and was approved by the Office of Student Affairs. This is the date Sigma Kappa Omega was founded on the Stephen F. Austin campus. Sigma Kappa Omega has seen many changes through the years, but continues to strive to uphold the vision of its founders. Since that first rush in Spring 2002, Sigma Kappa Omega has continued to welcome new members that have proven sincerity to the sisterhood.
