I had intended to send some jewelry down to Gulf but it didn't work out. So I'm having a sale on my late period brooches. Through Friday they will be 25% off with $5 shipping. At Better War Through Archery this weekend they will be back up to the marked (on the image). And remember that part of every sale goes to the Tuna For Kitties Fund.

So how did the leak/move out/move in thing go? I was, and is, awful. Instead of a few days I was out a week. The move was a disaster because I tried to organize so that when i moved back in I could make better use of space. I didn't get done in time so bunches of stuff got tossed in big trash bags. Amongst other things they packed my purse so all my ID/cards/cash were unavailable.

Moving back was worse. Everything was basically dumped back in the apartment and there was barely room to walk. I had a plan for a new setup but, of course, I couldn't just unpack on the floor, I had to find shelf and shelf parts (and other such organizational structure) and create places to put stuff while figuring out where stuff was (randomly filled bags, remember).

It was a nightmare task and as I got to where I could see the light at the end of the tunnel the new owners told me that they wanted me out by the end of October. I wasn't keeping the place neat enouh. The excuse doesn't really matter. The important part was the wanted me out for their own seasons. I some ways this was a good thing. My lease expired in December and I really didn't want to move then. Still it really sucked.

Where I had been focused on rebuilding and ignoring everything else so that I would actually get-finished (not just sort of unpacked) I was now hit by major depression. I was just too much and while I have been looking at places I have also been hiding in a dark hole.

At this point I;m feeling better and have to get moving. I'll be putting stuff up for sale over the next week in order to get moving money together. Watch for it.

Ready for the next installment on the bathroom saga? A woman from the new rental company came by today. She was horrified.

She had the maintenance people look the bathroom over. They decided that, in addition to the leaking/damaged area, the floor needed to be replaced. I also discovered (while she was there) that water is leaking in my bedroom closet. Oh joy.

This is good and bad news. Its bad because I basically need to get everything out of the apartment. Its good because it means that they are really trying to make things right. They aren't (like the previous rental company) trying to do the minimum possible to get by. It also appears that they will provide movers for some portion of the process and have already brought some storage tubs for me to use.

I also found out that while the building is being sold, the sale can't be completed until my problems are solved. I suspect that this is why the current owner changed management companies at this late moment. If they were as good at other aspects of the sale he was not being well served.

At a guess I'll have no roof over my head for a time next week. They expect the job to take two to three days. Again, the new company seems to be making a real effort to do things right. That, at least, is good news.

It appears there will be no Pennsic for me this year. I have mentioned my on going issues with a bathroom leak. Well it has continued to worsened and the rental people have continued to fail to deal with it. I've had two visits from people "assessing" the situation and one visit from actual plumbers.

The plumbers were here 10 days ago and ripped down the ceiling but were not able to fix the problem without getting into the place upstairs. That person has been no help at all and wasn't available (they were supposed to be).. The plumbers promised a resolution by four days ago. When nothing happened I complained again.

I now have a second date with the plumbers. Next Monday. Yeah, the day that I had intended to be at Pennsic. There is no way I will let them have access with me gone. For one thing I don't trust people to come and go without letting the cats out. So, best case, this will be resolved on Monday. Given that this will require drywall and painting as well as plumbing I can't see this being finished in a single day.

So no Pennsic.
