A piece of Indianapolis history with a very special family story. ❤️🕰️
This beautiful Charles Mayer grandfather clock dates back to the 1800s and was once owned by the customer’s great-grandfather. Today, it belongs to her and we had the privilege of helping keep this family heirloom ticking for another generation.
Charles Mayer founded his Indianapolis emporium in 1840 on West Washington Street. The store was known for clocks, musical instruments, fine china, toys, silver, and other European goods. It remained a downtown Indianapolis institution for more than a century before closing its original location in the 1950s.
Pretty amazing to think that this clock has been part of Indianapolis—and one family’s story—for well over 100 years. ❤️
