The name Tirza literally translates to "delight" - but the women who carried it were built for battle.
Thousands of years ago, a woman named Tirzah proved that true dignity isn't about being quiet or compliant - it is about being economically unshakeable. She and her sisters BOLDLY stood before leaders, demanded their inheritance, and rewrote history so women could own property and build wealth.
Six years ago, I built Survivor-made. | Shop with purpose. on that very foundation. Every piece of jewelry we create is a tangible declaration of a woman’s sovereignty.
But when you take a mission like that into the real world, it stops being a pretty marketing story. It gets heavy.....
"We went to Bethlehem to train women in entrepreneurship."
Saying those words has cost us followers. It has cost us retail customers. In a deeply polarized world, some assumed one thing; some assumed the exact opposite.
But true peacebuilding, anti-trafficking, and grassroots entrepreneurship don't live in neat boxes. They happen in the trenches.
I went because women there needed business training, and I answered. When you stand in a war zone with women while missiles fly overhead, the noise of the internet fades. You realize very quickly that teaching a woman how to build something profitable isn’t a trendy career choice. It is a survival strategy. Lives depend on it. No matter how small or seemingly insignificant it is.
