Spooky season is in full swing, and I’m bringing some fresh handcrafted magic to downtown Wilmington! 🌙✨

A 36” partial hand-forged chain holds a luminous moonstone pendant, with a delicate lily of the valley pierced and hand-cut fine silver on the reverse. A hidden botanical detail, revealed only to the wearer. 🌿🌙

Moonstone has long been associated with intuition, cycles, and new beginnings, while lily of the valley symbolizes the return of happiness in European folklore. Together, they make a fitting talisman for seasons of change, gentle transformation, and the beauty of beginning again.

And just like that, HMD has a new homebase! 🌿

Tomorrow marks my first vending event in my new home of Wilmington, NC, and my first chance to start getting to know the local art + maker community.

I’ll be bringing a selection of handmade, nature-inspired jewelry from Heather MacKenzie Designs to the PorchFest Art + Music Walk, Saturday, September 19th, from 2–6PM. You can find me at River’s Edge Art Supplies & Gallery, 812 Castle St. (map in the comments)

There will be 40+ visual artists, 20 musicians, and plenty to wander through throughout downtown Wilmington. I’ll have a selection of pieces from the current collection with me, and I’d love for you to come by, take a look, and say hello.

Welp, it’s official — my Key West studio is EMPTY. 🥲

I’ve officially transported my life and business up the coast, about halfway home as I’ve been saying, to our new location in Wilmington, North Carolina! 🌿

It’s hard to put into words the way it feels to leave this perfect little studio space. For the entirety of my time living in Key West, this has been my sanctuary — my quiet place to work, make things, dream, and hide away a little bit from the rest of the world.

I knew I was lucky when I scored this spot, but I had no idea just how lucky I would feel looking back on it now that it’s all come to an end.

There’s definitely a lot of bittersweetness in this move, but I’m also so thrilled for a new beginning and a fresh perspective in a new and exciting place.

New studio, new adventures, new things to make. 🌿🤍
