I've always told myself that I wanted to learn Spanish, but here I am at 59 years old and I can't speak Spanish.
•

I came to the realization that I didn't want to LEARN Spanish, I just wanted to KNOW Spanish.
•
•
I didn't want to take the time and effort to study and learn the language. I wanted to know it as if by osmosis. I didn't want to do the work.
•
•
I have no excuses either. I grew up in Jersey City and most of my friends were Puerto Rican, I got straight A's in Spanish for 2 years in high school, one of my brothers in the Marine Corps is Mexican and I was his A gunner, most jobs I've worked at had at least one Spanish speaking person, and my wife, who I've been with for almost 34 years is Puerto Rican and fluent.

So, after all these years and lack of excuses, I have decided that I want to learn Spanish. I want to put in the work.
•
•
I am currently on a 55 day streak, as of today, on and I am loving it. It is almost like a game. I don't have any games on my phone anymore and I'm barely on Social Media because I'm having so much fun learning.
•
•
I'm not going to say I wish I had done this years ago. That is living in the past. I will say that I'm glad I finally decided to do it. I'm having so much fun.

I put in for November 10th off for the Marine Corps Birthday so I can have a 4 day weekend attached to Veterans Day.

It just so happened to coordinate with the release of God of War: Ragnorok on the 9th.
•
•
It is my favorite game of all time so I spent some time playing.
•
•
I don't think it changed me at all.
•

Pressure washing of the back porch is complete.

Got it partially set back up.

Almost looks ready for some hanging out.

Needless to say it got moldy and this is halfway into the pressure washing.

It came out like new.

Gonna have to make some time for laying out.

Threw my back out cleaning up debris from the storm and doing home maintenance.

So that put a delay on things. Hoping to get back to it this weekend.

Time to take you on my journey.

I'm going to take you on my journey of personal growth.
•
•
Fixing my physical health, fixing my home, and just general growth all around.
•
•
We bought a pressure washer. I started with the entry and walkway to our door.
•
•
Everything looked like the dark area. It was dirty and moldy.
•
•
Needless to say the pressure washer did a great job.
•
•
I will continue to post what is going on and how things are coming along.
•
•

I am working on my vision board.

I am taking a bit of a different approach.
•
•
Instead of pictures of what I want I am creating photos of how I want to be.
•
•
I want to be thankful and look for the positive in every situation.
•
•
I want to get up regardless of how many times I get knocked down.
•
•
I want to embrace the hard times.
•
•
I want to have the same level of commitment I had when I was a Marine but to my family, well being and job.
•
•
I want grit, strength, and dedication.
•
•
I will add more stuff over the next few weeks but right now I'm concentrating on being there man I'm supposed to be.
•
•
This is an interesting approach for me because I usually focus on things rather than who I am.
•

Finally found a new dermatologist who listened to me.
•
•
I am now on Skyrizi and had my first dose.
•
•
The second dose is 4 weeks after the first and then every 12 weeks after that.
•
•
Hoping to get some good results and some relief.
•
•
We will see!

Mind Boss by .gillette is the book I just finished.
•
•
I would highly recommend this book if you are looking to shift your thinking.
•
•
This is the first book that I was able to put its teachings into practice in a real life situation while I was still reading it.
•
•
The words in this book is what helped me stay calm during the wreck I was in the other day.
•
•
This book along with my wife and kids working to help me better myself helped me behave in a completely calm manner during a stressful situation.
•
•

So, since I don't have enough going on this happened.
•
•
I wanted to lose my s**t.
•
•
However, I am currently reading a book that helped me think differently.
•
•
I'll let you know what book it is after I finish it.
•
•
Instead of losing my s**t, I assessed my situation.
•
•
I was not seriously injured and neither was the other driver.
•
•
I was not at fault.
•
•
The other driver has full coverage insurance.
•
•
Eventually found out my vehicle is still drivable.
•
•
We were kind to each other the entire 90 minutes we waited for emergency response.
•
•
It was super hot out, which doesn't bother me but I went to a near by store to get a Gatorade and offered her something to drink and she asked for a water.
•
•
She was extremely apologetic and I said the most important thing is we don't appear to have any critical injuries.
•
•
The cars can be fixed or replaced.
•
•
In a world that is going through enough right now we could have been really nasty to each other.
•
•
We chose kindness over hatred and meanness.
•
•
Your environment and situations truly are not why you are where you are in life.
•
•
It is always your reaction to your environment and situations.
•
•
So I ask that in any situation choose to be a better person.
•
•
I'm not preaching from the pulpit I'm in it with you making my choices day by day, minute by minute just like you.
