Bands for Bangles

Bands for Bangles Bands for Bangles creates artistic bangle bracelets, pendants, and earrings made from musicians' donated guitar strings. So began my guitar string collecting.

B4B was brought to life one evening back in 2006, when my husband was changing the strings on his guitar. He wound up the old ones and offered them to me saying, “Can you do something with these?” Right away I bound them with some wire and slipped them over my wrist like a bangle bracelet. Wouldn’t you know, that very night, a stranger came up and complimented me on it. At that moment, I knew I wa

s on to something! Merging recycling, music, and art made perfect sense to me. I loved the idea of giving something old and worn out a whole new life as a souvenir or a conversation starter! Many came from my musical friends, some from proud mothers wanting to wear their sons’ or daughters’ strings, and others from well admired musicians. More recently, I added earrings and necklaces to the Bands for Bangles family. Each comes with the musician’s name and year his or her strings were donated. Contact me for special orders!
