Roane County Green Team On Earth Day 2010 the Roane County Green Team was formed with the mission to make Roane County the cleanest county in the state of Tennessee.

In 2013, Roane County was designated as a Valley Sustainable Silver Community by TVA through a program initiated by their Economic Development department to help communities improve existing sustainability programs and increase their ability to attract new investment in their community.

🌊 Join Us for the 2026 Watts Bar Lake Association Annual Shoreline Clean-Up! 🌊

Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 14th from 9 AM – 12 PM and help us make a BIG impact on Watts Bar Lake!

Rockwood Marina & RV Resort is proud to partner with the Watts Bar Lake Association (WBLA), Tennessee RiverLine , , and for this important annual event.

Last year, 140 incredible volunteers removed more than 13,500 pounds of trash — including 80 tires — from our beautiful lake. This year, we’re aiming even higher, and we need YOUR help to keep Roane County and our surrounding counties clean and pristine!

🕘 Event Details:
Please arrive at your designated meet-up location by 8:45 AM. We will head out to cleanup sites promptly at 9 AM.

If you have a trash grabber, feel free to bring it. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear sturdy footwear. If you have a boat, you may launch at Tom Fuller and tie off at the end of our docks.

🍴 The Cove Cantina will be open for volunteers at our location from 12 PM – 2 PM. As a thank you for your hard work, we are providing a FREE meal to volunteers at our location!

• DATE: 3/14/26

• MEET LOCATION: Multiple meeting locations are set for this stewardship event. Plan to arrive at the meeting location of your choice at least 30 minutes early to get signed in. If your location is at a Marina or boat launch area. Feel free to bring your own boat. There will be at least a few boats at each location that will be taking volunteers out to address trash on the shorelines. Additionally there are others areas that will be land based cleanups. These areas will be accessible by land and your team leader will direct you to these areas that need cleaning up.

All children need to be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians. All children will be required to wear a PFD if on a boat.

• Roane County: Rockwood Marina & RV Resort, Caney Creek Boat Launch, and Blue Springs Marina.

• Rhea County: Veterans Park

• Meigs County: Mr. Twister

MEET TIME: 9:AM EST

EVENT DURATION: 9:AM-12:PM EST

3rd time's the charm! We've scheduled our makeup river cleanup of Watt's Bar Lake on the Tennessee River for tomorrow (December 16) from noon - 3 p.m. EST!

Come out to help us clean on the 9th out of nine lakes on the main stem of the Tennessee River and make a final push toward our goal to remove 200,000 lbs. of trash in 2025! Please register in order to participate:
