Working on this large commission using one of my favorites from Silver Brush, the Atelier Oval 40. It’s great for the big skies that I paint and rolling in the curves and soft rounded edges with a variety color shifts.

Saying goodbye to one of my favourites, but so happy it has found a lovely new home across the ocean 🌊Galaxy Brown 🧡🤎🩶

Halfway there, and the drama is already building.🧡❤️💜

A quick work-in-progress look at my Forever Susan lily composition! I’ve finished painting the two delicate buds and the side-facing bloom, and now I’m finally ready to dive into the big, bold center flower.

There’s always a moment halfway through a painting where you hold your breath right before tackling the main focal point. But watching these rich, warm tones layer together makes every brushstroke worth it.

How do you usually approach a large floral piece? Do you paint the background elements first, or go straight for the main bloom? Let me know below! 👇

Moving on to leaf number 2 of our mini-series, the delicate flowering ash! 🌿

Working in a loose, expressive style right next to the original reference lets me focus on the natural rhythm and warm color shifts without worrying about every tiny line.

Which leaf variety are you loving most so far? Let me know below! 👇
