Paracord was originally used by the military to attach their parachutes to themselves. The cord is rot & mildew resistant and can hold up to 550 lbs. The cord is made up of 7 inner strands, each of which can support at least 50 lbs. Paracord was discovered to be randomly useful for all sorts of things; emergency fishing line, replacement shoelace, constructing shelter, fixing a broken pack. Soldie
