Have you ever wondered what all those screens on a flight deck do? At Girls in Aviation Day, airline captain Abingdon Mullin, founder of Abingdon Co., showed the girls the display that tracks which doors are open and whether the slides are armed. Then she showed them how the thrust levers work. In her words, it's like stepping on the gas pedal. Future captains in the making.

POV: You spend a day at Oshkosh with a watch brand built for women who fly. ✈️

People see the airplanes, the crowds and the airshows.

But this is what a day at EAA AirVenture actually looks like from our side of the booth.

Wake up. Set up. Meet pilots. Talk watches. Meet more pilots. Try to keep up. Repeat. 😂

And honestly? The best part wasn’t the airplanes.

Ever wondered what a watchmaker is called? I'm a horologist! Finding a watchmaking class wasn't easy. After countless calls, I found a lead to Joseph Bulova School in Queens. It was expensive, but persistence paid off. My advanced training eventually took me to Switzerland.
