These are just a few of the beads from the series that I'm calling 'Broken Butterfly'. I attempted a large butterfly cane as my first attempt at caning. Needless to say, in my inexperience I distorted the cane when I tried to reduce it. Well I put it away for quite a while then decided I needed to start using up all my leftovers. So I did end up reducing the cane some more and instead of thin slices being placed on something else I cut them thick and formed them into beads. This way the butterfly design shown all the way thru and some how the butterfly didn't look so broken anymore. Lol. Well, I at least liked what it turned into. The majority of it however, got chopped up and reformed into all kinds of beads. They are already sanded but might need a few more times. But I can't wait to buff these and see how the translucent clay looks.
