I’ve had several questions about some of the materials behind the flies I’ve tied recently. So here are 4 materials I’ve been asked about 🫶 I highly recommend all of them to any tyer.
1) Pluma marabou 5-6” : a great amount of marabou, consistent length, great for palmering and any marabou needs really. Best part it’s not loose and it does not dye your hands. It’s on all my balanced leeches this fall.
2) Whiting rooster soft hackle w/ chickabou : I love the grizzly coloration, this one is dyed tan. I use the chickabou on a lot of streamers and balanced leeches. It’s money and as always… Whiting quality is unmatched.
3) Senyos Fusion dub : I bought this originally to tie some steelhead flies for fun but have found it to be a great leech dub for balanced leeches 👌
4) Senyos Dirty Bird dub : I don’t know what else to say other than it just plain rocks. I highly recommend picking up several colors and giving it a shot on all your bigger flies.
That my two cents on a few products you should test out this tying season.
