Our newest handmade batik collection is launching in person for the very first time this weekend at the 2026 I AM She Expo.

Ahyɛase means beginnings or origin in Twi, and this collection marks a beautiful new beginning for Ayebea’s Sankofa Marketplace.

Rooted in Ghanaian artistry and created with hand-dyed batik fabrics by Edwina Assan of Editex, each piece is designed to feel bold, wearable, refined, and full of story.

There was rain, high winds, tents were flying and products were knocked down. Some people left, but we stuck to it. Holding down tents that already had 40 pounds of weight on each leg and chasing after products. But Lombard didn't disappoint. Thanks to all our wonderful neighbors and guests who showed up in the rain, and wind and supported us. We are grateful to the Lombard Chamber of Commerce, the wonderful volunteers and organizers for such an amazing event and turn out! I'm grateful!🙏🏿
